The Enola Gay and the other nuclear armed B-29's were run through a special mod program at Tinker AFB before going to the 509th Bomb Group.

When I was at Tinker I talked to someone who worked there at the time. For example, he said that normally they calibrated the fuel flowmeters and then installed them in the aircraft. For the Enola Gay and the others they were told they had to calibrate the flowmeters in the aircraft, which of course made for better accuracy. At the time they did not understand why this was done, but now it is clear. In fact, on the Nagasaki mission the B-29 Bock's Car nearly ran out of fuel.

So the Enola Gay might not have had a standard wiring setup.
