I've put together an SCR-183 (which is a mix of
-AR and -AS) and an RU-16/GF-11. I have a couple
of coils for the RU-16 which are matching serial numbers,
but as for the rest, not even close.
Even with all the mismatched coil/radio sets, I've
found the dial charts close enough to get the radio
close to a desired frequency.
Just for grins, I just looked at my BC-AR-230, with
a coil set, C-382, labeled for a BC-AP-230.
Interpolating from the data on the coil,
3885kc should be 2178.5 on the dial.
It actually came out to be 2177.
The chart worked out at 1.9 dial divisions per kc, so this
is an error of about 3 kc.
My -AP coil is marked for a specific transmitter
(1336). The chart is one with white spaces for
calibration, not etched in numbers. However it
looks like the numbers are printed in, not hand
written.
But, the calibrations exactly match the etched numbers
in another C-382 coil set for a BC-AR-230 which is not matched
to a specific transmitter.
I have a C-271 coil with hand calibrated chart, for a BC-AL-230.
It will be interesting to see how close the chart is in my -AR-
transmitter.
