This sounds cool and the less gooderer of the scopes would be a wonderful
candidate for this conversion.  It will most likely get rekitted anyway due
to the number of components that need to be replaced so I may as well just
"upgrade" it to the later model.  Of course the odds of finding a PDF of the
manual anywhere in the known universe is greatly exceeded by the odds of my
performing neurosurgery (other than a lobotomy which I do know how to do ...
and you [plural] probably don't want to know why :-D) with any degree of
success.
