Hello Joe,
When I arrived home yesterday I found the mail-man had delivered your
packet containing the various BC-45x parts you sent. I gasped when I
saw the quality of the RF coil box assembly. Certainly we all
appreciate the quality in the "command" sets, but for all practical
purposes the coil box you sent might have been new. I run my sets from
a 60v B+ supply, but to do this I have to solder an lower value R across
R6, the local oscillator plate dropping resistor. (510k is a little
high for a 60v supply).
I'll drop the coil box in the set I'm repairing later today (the
finished job could not be considered a restoration). So thanks for the
parts. Much appreciated.
Best wishes from Australia where our weather has gone from a 10 year
absolutely no-rain drought to floods on a scale we have never seen
before now. The water covers a good deal of the state of Victoria, and
it has been that way for a period of 3 months.
