The C-29/ARC-5 for MF/HF always brings a premium, regardless of condition.
That's because it's seldom seen. And that's due to it being *totally*
superflous for use in *any* AN/ARC-5 system after the C-30A/ARC-5 replaced
the abominable British-style push-button C-30/ARC-5 for MF/HF/VHF. It
was likely never used anywhere afterwards.

I suspect that few C-29 units were ever made because it could be of
service only in multi-transmitter MF/HF-only installations. The C-30A
is essentially the same size and weight, has an additional switch and
connector for use in VHF systems that can be ignored in MF/HF systems,
and has all other controls needed to support either MF/HF/VHF or
MF/HF-only installations. In addition, it has a cover for the rarely
if ever needed mode switch. There was simply no value at all to the
C-29 after the C-30A became available in late WWII. The C-30A is a
direct replacement in every case where a C-29 might have been used.
