I'd like to add a couple additions to Mike's and Robert's comments

There was another contract for later model RU/GF. Whether for complete
sets or just components I don't know.

That contract is N288s-5418 dated 7-1-42.  The odd thing is that
the serial number on these components is just the letter X, and it
is part of the engraving, not stamped.  I have a 3000-3675 coil
set marked thusly, and have seen a couple of other pieces. The
manufacturer was CBY.

On the GP series.  The GP-3 is somewhat different than the GP-7. The
tuning units do not interchange as the plug pattern is different, and the
internal layout of the transmitter is different.

Where in the GP series this change occurred I don't know.  I would like to
find any service info on the GP-3 to compare it to the -7.
