Bass Tool here in Houston lists 1/2-27 taps.  About $15 for USA and $8 for 
foreign made.  However, I couldn't get their Stock Check routine to work so 
I don't know what the stock situation is.  However, I've bought other odd 
ball taps from them in the past and they always had what I needed.  Oddly 
enough, Wholesale Tool does not list 1/2-27.

Someone made a comment (I forget exactly what was said) about there being 
only two on a list he was looking at.  If the statement was that the list 
being examined only showed two odd number pitches, that agrees with the bass 
list.  11 and 27.  However, if the statement was that there were only two taps 
with odd numbered pitches, the Bass list shows eleven, ten of 27 tpi and 
one of 11 tpi.
