Thanks for the detailed information about how to ID my e- for
"'Empfänger" units.

While I was checking my old issues of CQ, I ran across another of
Gordon Whites' Command set articles: October, 1965 pp 34-37
'COMMAND SETS' - very informative and very well written.

Also in the same issue ( pp 43-4), there's an article by  Gordon White,
"Crystal Controlled Command Sets." He writes,
"Transmitters were re-wired to make the calibration  crystal control
 the frequency."

I mention this because, some time ago, we had a discussion on this thread
about the feasibility of using the passive Command set calibration xtal as
an active oscillating xtal.
