Leslie, my good fellow, I bow to your superiour knowledge....yet how do you 
explain my Italian rapier with the metric diameter and turns-per-inch?

Unfortunately, I cannot present you with this device since 1) this took place in 
my shop at the University of Montana at least 40 years ago, 2) you and I are 
not close enough for me to carry it over to you, and 3) I don't remember who 
had it. But I am ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that the dimensions were as I 
stated them. It took me some time to figure it out and I was MOST surprised 
to discover it.

So, are you calling me a liar...nicely? :-)

If you are, I really don't mind, since you are quite obviously wrong about this 
particular matter anyway.
