Having been born in the UK to Imperial units, then "decimalized" in the
70's,
coming to the US was, er, interesting. Not only flung back to early base

arithmetic but have to cope with things like a pint being a different
measure!
I can understand people using a 'pound' to mean different weights, but when
you are talking about the standard unit of beer, now, that's something
else..
I am however grateful for having chosen a field where I have never been
required
to work in British Thermal Units.
