Coming here at an early age of 11 from a "metric" country (Hungary) in 1956,
it was difficult enough for me to initially get used to the feet/pound
system. Even in college I still had some problems. Well, all that was a long
long time ago and now, I really have a tough time picturing a liter or a
kilometer ( a calculator helps and of course I remember the ratios :)).
Regardless, it is interesting, that we have always called our ham bands in
meters. For example, if wanting to get on 80 meters, I never heard anyone
ever say, hey, let's get on 260 feet. 73 - Mike
