I also used IF stage regen. on my CollinsTCS and Bendix RBA , back around 
1980, using a pot to control coupling - very dramatic improvement in both 
receivers.

And it allows CW reception.  Oh, wait.  I'm not supposed to know that, am I.

Well, yeah.  This is part of using a regen Rx.  It's a two-handed operation
- tuning & regen.  Well, unless you're having really wacky fun and using a
regen detector in a superhet.

My Rx was a "parts or pervert" BC-229 that I decided to pervert using
different detectors and playing with mildly regenerative RF amps and a few
other fun things.  I'd like to get a P or P BC-230 to go with it but Hue has
said that no one is to ever send me anything and we all know he's Lord and
Master here.
