Apparently I did, Dave. An email received (Not from you!) said that my
position was appalling and that I didn't belong on either of these lists.
Why? I have no clue except maybe that I didn't believe anyone would
preserve my "treasures" after I die. My only question, and I open this to
everyone, WHO is supposed to carry on with it after I die? There is no one
locally nor is there anyone who'd be willing to take the time et al to pack
them up and ship them off to the mainland. Yes, I've already tried to find
someone and it's been a no-go all down the line.

What about restuffing the cap or replacing the resistor, especially if it's
on one of the terminal boards? Carbon comp resistors are still around and,
while it may not look exactly like its neighbors, it would be a direct
replacement.

Like the metal and wood units my systems will be on with the wiring done to
accommodate the layout? Like non-original oversized knobs on the front of
the SCR-274-N receivers to make tuning easier? Like the spray cans of
different fluorescent paint (lime, hot pink, electric blue etc) to get the
attention of the younger generations? Er, wait. Wrong kind of "bring the
set to life." :-)
I'll reserve the paint for the HT-32/R-390A combo instead. Lots more
surface area for a "cammo pattern". :-D
All three of my rigs, the already present SCR-274-N, the partially built
ARA/ATA and the not even started GF/RU will be used on the air, not only for
show and tell but for my own use with the latter not reserved for special
events. "Rig here is 194x GF/RU (or whatever)" will probably raise a
comment or two no matter what else is going on.

What about equipment that's already hacked? Some is restorable but some
isn't. Should that which is restored be restored or should it remain hacked
and become fodder for further conversion?
