Considering how much deck they had, I think everyone should have been loaded
to full war load.  That would have made it a lot more interesting.  Even
better would have been to allow only as much deck as they had originally.
Wonder how many of them could handle what the WW II pilots did.

For those unfamiliar with WOD, it means Wind Over the Deck.  An aircraft
carrier turns into the wind and engineering winds up the rubber bands *real*
tight so they've got a 30 knot or so wind either directly down the deck
(straight deck) or 3deg to port (angle deck) for flight ops.  This gives
aircraft a bit of a head start when being launched or recovered.  As someone
who's ridden through a few of each, I can say that sometimes it feels like
it just ain't enough.  :-)
