[ARC5] [Milsurplus] APS-3 radar manual/components needed please

Hello Jay,

 

The interphone is indeed the AIA-2A system. It seems to be a common Navy set
used later in the war. I have seen the C-69(*)/AIA-2(*) control boxes before
(3 needed) but it looks like there is a big junction box J-36 that I am
worried about finding. I think I may have seen the dynamotor somewhere too.
The other interphone components needed:

 

3          J-22/ARC-5 jack boxes

4          C-70/AIA-2(*) station boxes

1          DY-13(*)/AIA-2(*) dynamotor

1          RL-24C or RL-7 Interphone amplifier

 Try William Donzelli and Robert Downs for manuals and possible leads to
equipment.Did you mean AIC-2(*) interphone? I may be able to help on that.

We have a 1945 Lockheed PV-2D Harpoon flying project that we are working on.
We recently brought her home and are starting to collect the gear to make
her original and authentic. She is an ex air tanker now but has not been
chopped up that badly. Here is a link to a YouTube video of her first flight

One of the things we are looking for is the APS-3 radar gear. I already have
a scope, antenna and a few bits but I am in need of the modulator, control
box, cabling and shock mounts. Would anyone know where I could find these
parts? I have WWII radio gear and other aircraft parts for trade. We would
like to put everything back into this aircraft to turn her into a flying
time capsule.
 
 
 
Besides the APS-3 radar this Harpoon also carries the following radio gear:
 
 
 
ARC-5 with VHF capabilities
 
ARB receiver x 2
 
ATC Transmitter
 
AIA-2A interphone system
 
APN-1 Radar Altimeter
 
MN-31 radio compass
 
APX-2 IFF
 
APN-4
 
ARR-3 Sonobouy receiver. Not sure on this
 
 
 
I am also looking for the tech manuals for the APS-3. One source lists TO
08-10-196 and 08-51A-1.
 
 
 
If there is anyone near Stockton, California who might want to become the
radio crew chief or simply help to work on this great old Navy bird please
come on over as we could use all the help we can get. I would like for all
of the armament and radio gear to be operational too if possible but that
requires someone with much higher intelligence than I possess. 
 
 
 
I have a lot of the equipment already and we will need to build the frames
that support the radio racks and mounts but this is very straight forward.
We have a Warbird restoration shop here with the tools necessary to build
what we need, I just need help to make this happen sooner. Next year is the
100th anniversary of Naval Aviation and I would like to see this aircraft
participate as much as possible. Come on out and help get this great old
flying piece of history back in fighting shape.
