[ARC5] BC-221 - LM Frequency meter, sub chassis

I have thought about doing a similar thing, Henry. I have the complete LM
version here in the shack (sorry, no sub chassis). The stock unit tunes
from 2 to 4MHz so it is ready to go as a wide range VFO. There is plenty of
room within the cabinet to add some solid state circuitry to complete a
receiver. I think the tuning rate would be a bit fast but the mechanism is
so smooth and free of backlash that I doubt it would be an issue. Of course
you could also use the lower tunining range of the LM (or BC) but a freq
that low would not be optimum for an HF band superhet.
