I'm not so sure about the several aircraft sets that used it, but the
inclusion of AM in the various medium power USN shipboard sets was only an
afterthought. The only reason I can think of that it might have ever been used
would have been if the TCS used on Harbor Common went down and they had to
talk to the tugs somehow. Otherwise, all of the long range circuits were CW
(or later RATT).
