Phil,

That fits my recollection, pretty well, too.
But Vincent Price was also narrator on a TV program
of the same "genre" as The Inner Sanctum
(something along the lines of The Twilight Hour).
There were some great sci-fi/thriller TV shows
back then, in the 1950-60's.
