[ARC5] Receiver Dials

I definitely have a brass dial, one that came off a 190-520 Khz set, almost certainly a 453..  I believe that it its solid brass, or perhaps solid copper, with a plating of what probably is nickle on the back to prevent galvanic corrosion problems with the aluminum of the tuning assembly.  Now that is an expensive dial, and one that used scarce strategic materials to boot! 

Come to think of it, isn't it kinda strange that the receiver dials are all metal but the transmitter dials all seem to be plastic?  What is up with that?
