In response to a question asked a few weeks back about narrow band FM detector chips that could be added to an older rig, I stumbled across a website, www.arcadechips.com, that has the MC3359 available for $5.00. It is described as " The MC3359 is a High Gain low-power narrow band FM detector integrated circuit for FM dual conversion of communication equipment. The MC3359 includes oscillator, limiting amplifier, AFC circuit, quadrature detect, operational amplifier, squelch circuit, scan-control and muting switch." They also have a chip called the MC3357 for $1.00 that is a "Low Power FM IF in 16 PDIP package." I may get a couple of these myself to play around with, put them right next to the TDA 7000 FM receiver chips I bought in 1982.

Second, a while back I offered a local hand crank knob that I think fits the GF/RU/283 sets (will NOT fit a 274N), and a gentleman in Texas wanted it. I finally found the knob but have lost the name and address of the requester. Whoever you are please let me know.

Y'all have a good hot weekend.
