The Box top and the knob itself both agree as to the p/n 6743 for the local tuning knob, not 6973. So.......

The only documentation I've found so far is with the SCR-274N RC-54A and RC-55A test set drawing, Jay. The screwdriver is an Apex No. 1. The 6973 was a generic tuning knob that was the ARC part number for use with all the ARA, SCR-274N, and ARC-5 command receivers...in other words, the military nomenclature changed but the ARC part number remained the same.
