Am interested in your findings.
(1) Can we eliminate BC906. Have photo of BC-906 if this will help the identification.
(2) 3 months ago I bought a "junked" item containing a BC-221 tuning cap and valve box.
The tuning dial appears identical to BC-221. Vernier, worm drive, die-cast tuning capacitor frame. The resemblance to BC-221 ends there. The removable valve box (I mean "toob box", but here in Aus we choose funny words to describe "toobs") has 1x 6AK5 and 1x 6C4. The front panel, constructed from flimsy aluminium plate is ONLY 6mm thick.
(You can't get quality these days!)
The rest of the unit is missing. I would like to know what it is before the junk I have morphs into a lovely regen detector - although I wonder: "Is a 6mm aluminium thick enough?" Will the set be mechanically sound? HA!
The point? What was this gear before it was scrap?
Photos available if helpful in making the identification.
