Absolutely Bob, which is why I follow up my initial quick pass with
the more thorough box-checking and stopping to chat. Or that was how
it worked before we started NEAR-Fest. Seems I get busier each time
with 'fest business from picking up money at the gate to moving
someone's latest 100 lb purchase. It's helped control how much follows
me home, at least.

I snagged a connector for the ART-13 under a table at one of the last
Hosstraders at Hopkinton. Pulled it out of the box and asked the
fellow. He said "Is two dollars okay?" Handed him the money without a
thought of haggling. William Perry was selling at NEAR-Fest last fall,
didn't see him in the spring but I was busy much of the time and
didn't get to look around as much. Bought one of the 2 pin power
connectors from him for the ARC-5 and Command set receiver racks and
enjoyed a good chat.

John, keep in mind that NEAR-Fest is a 'ham' fest, which accounts for
much of the content. You might have better luck attending some of the
mil vehicle meets like the big one in Weare, NH. While the newer
and/or more esoteric stuff does show up at NEAR-Fest, it;s nowhere
near as prevalent as the older, more typical surplus.

We had a fellow attend last spring who said we had better stuff than
he's seen at Dayton over the last 20 years. He can't wait to come
back.
