Well, Air & Space seems to have used some items in aircraft 
restorations. I heard a little about the Enola Gay, but apparently stuff 
went into other aircraft. There was talk about a stand-alone exhibit of 
avionics, with the Type K prototypes to be displayed, but I have never 
seen such a display. Frankly, knowing then what I know now, I would have 
given less. Some of the stuff in poorer condition, I suspect will never 
be used, in fact ought not be used.  The curator who had to inventory it 
all was a bit tired before he was through. Having worked  as a volunteer 
at the Smithsonian's American History Museum for 20 years, I  think he 
was right. I'd have just given them less.
