Correct.
In fact, there is a whole field devoted to designing manufacturing
processes for parts...
Do you turn this diameter or drill this hole first? How fast do I run this
tap... to slow and production suffers, too fast and tolerance suffer or
you break taps. Books of speed/feed charts, etc.
BORING, but essential for old school MEs. I had to take a course in it. Ir
was taught by a really nice guy who ran a gun factory in WW II, and KNEW
this stuff.
