[ARC5] Black radios

Having looked at the first Navy command radio specs - that the stuff was 
required to meet - in the late 1930s, corrosion protection and paint 
that had to undergo salt spray testing - I am certain that  the 1930s 
specs were the reason for the paint. Remember, these units were designed 
originally for the Air Corps, which at first passed on them until the 
need became critical. I have seen the Type K prototypes, and they were 
black wrinkle, by the way. I think A.R.C. had a lot of good ideas at the 
company's level and that carried over to the production equipment
