FYI. Whether or not you should re-tweak alignment when dropping in another
tube (glass or metal) depends upon the frequency of operation. In a 455 KHz
stage, I doubt it. But higher frequencies could be affected by a small
amount. I tried three different 12K8 mixers in a BC-453B and the freq
spread among them was about 1 to 2 KHz at the high end of the set's range.
A BC-459 would experience much more potential shift.
