p.s. I just got through doing this kind of procedure on my 
BC-229 receiver.  Only had to lift the end of one resistor 
on this one; the 229 is a pretty simple TRF set.
I used the cap-testing power supply in my ZM-11 tester, 
which can provide up to 500 or so volts, has built-in 
voltage and current metering and nicely current-limits 
on shorts and leakage.  Helped me find the shorted bypass
in about ten minutes.  After four hours sitting with no tubes 
and 200 volts on the B+ busses (tubes pulled), the leakage 
of all the other caps totaled about 3/10ths of a mA.
That's not a worry.   Radio works again.
