Though not an equivalent to the 1626, the 6A6 is a twin triode that has a single cathode
common to both sections. Except for base connections, the 6N7GT is equivalent to the
6A6 and may be easier to locate.
Both tubes have heater rating of 6.3V at 0.8 Amp. If both grids and both plates were
connected together, there might be some good power sensitivity. Class B power output
for 300V plate supply is 10 Watts, so these tubes are capable of reasonable power,
and might be worth investigating.
