[ARC5] Enola Crewman Passes - off topic

Hi,
I'm a boomer...born right after the war when my father came home from
Japan and married my mother...like so many others. He wouldn't have come
home because his out would have been first ashore...if they got that
far. In fact, he was aboard the first flight of crago planes that landed
on Japanese soil after the surrender.
So.. I wouldn't be here either. My children and grandchildren and great
grandchildren, too. Beyond that self-interested view - if the bomb
hadn't ended the war when it did then millions more of *our* people
would have died AND millions of Japanese people would have died, too.
The numbers are staggering. All of those people were saved and by now
several new generations of people from both sides of that war are alive
today. Wish the bomb away if you will but you have to wish many millions
of survivors with it.
Many of us probably wouldn't be here to enjoy our glowbugs.
73,
Bill KU8H
