Les,

No.  The various A.R.C. sets derived from the Type K use mini-banana pins 
except on the 28 VDC connectors and on the transmitter dynamotor (as are 
still made as you say by Pomona).  Almost all other sets using a banana pin type 
connector use a large pin (a few dynamotors use an extra large one).  These 
include a long list of late 30's and early 40's Navy shipboard, NAVMARCOR, 
Naval Air and Signal Corps (both ground and air) sets.  The A.R.C. set 
connectors all have a threaded female retaining nut or ring.  A few Signal Corps 
ground sets (only the SCR-245 and SCR-694-C come to mind) use an Acme thread 
coupling.  The rest, and all of the Navy ones AFAIK, use a spring loaded 
push-button lock.
