You're welcome.  The differing pinouts surprised me too.  Had the manuals 
all said they were the same, I never would have gone to the trouble of 
testing some.

Yes, the 200 KC crystal in the FT-241 holder is standard in the BC-652.  
There should be a leaf spring holdown as well.  The same crystal was used in 
several other sets, including the ATC (AN/ART-13) transmitters and BC-1306 
receiver.  I think I dimly recall an early SCR-506 TM showing a crystal in an 
octal based holder but I've never actually seen one.  But in the BC-221, I 
don't know of any "official" authorization for doing it.
