You're welcome. The Signal Corps ones will be marked DC-9-aa where "aa" is
a one or two-letter suffix mostly matching the model letter of the BC-221
they were bought for. The Navy ones will be marked Caa-40023y where "aa" is
one or two letters and with the "C" is the Navy Contractor Code for whomever
built the crystal. It isn't particularly significant other than that it
may be the code for a crystal manufacturer or the one for the LM manufacturer.
The suffix "y" became "B" at least as early as the LM-10. But probably
isn't significant to us either. The metal cans vary from ones as tall as a
6J5 to ones about 2/3 as tall but taller than a 6H6. One of the 40023B's in
my spares box is missing Pin 1 and from the construction of the base is
likely mid to late 50's vintage. Metal to glass hermetic seals and bright nickle
plated can.
