Heads ups for anyone looking for DM-21 Dynamotors.
Over the past few months I bought two DM-21 dynamotors as used on the BC-312 on Ebay. Both were listed as "OS-200." As a result no one recognized them for what they were. I paid $10 for one and $20 for the other, plus shipping.
OS-200 is apparently the part number for the maker, Pioneer. But the interesting thing about these is that both had been modded and had Lear part number tags added. I can only assume Lear modified some DM-21's post war for some application of their own.
The mods to one consistof no more than the Lear tag and a cord with a male Jones plug on it. The other one has an additional chassis added to the top with a cover over it. The added chassis has 3 tubes and a Jones female plug, but under all that it appears to be just a regular DM-21. Both still have the DM-21 wiring diagram under the top cover. Nether one has a DM-21 tag on it.
Now get this: The male Jones plug is just what I needed for the BC-652-A I plan to get working and the female Jones plug appears to be just what I need for the TS-820S I am working on!
Anyway, if you need a DM-21, keep a look out for the OS-200 designation.
