Reference the Axis commando raids on the U.S. mainland, there are two works that are definitive:

The book "1945" by the noted historians Gingrich and Forstchen.

The Stephen Spielberg documentary film "1941."  It covers the Battle of Los Angeles quite thoroughly.  I recommend the Director's Cut version.

Study these carefully and you will never be troubled by excessive contact with reality again.
