"RANGE" is a narrow filter centered on 1020 Hz, if I recall, or whatever tone
was used for the Morse I.D. on range and LF beacon transmitters. "VOICE"
and "BOTH" should be self explanatory.
Somewhere back in history, research supposedly showed that the average
human's greatest sensitivity to sound was at 1020 Hz.
They were used in many aircraft.
