Others have already replied that the ARA and the SCR-274-N do
not have dial storage on the receiver tube covers.
Another fixture found only on the AN/ARC-5 LF/MF/HF receiver tube
cover is a storage base for the A.R.C. 9554 lock-tuned receiver
tuning key. This was used to set the dial of a stabilized lock-
tuned communications receiver, then reversed and screwed down on
the receiver front panel to cover the tuning spline port. Only
the R-25, R-26, and R-27 were provided with such tuning keys,
according to AN/ARC-5 Maintenance Instructions (AN 16-30ARC5-2).
The other two receivers, the R-23 and R-24, were not locked-tuned
and needed no such key.
These little brass keys can be a little hard to find today.
