[ARC5] Battle of Britain Radar

One interesting bit of detail on the Chain Home Low stations.  The direction of the antenna was controlled by two RAF enlisted chaps pumping away on bicycles, with directions from the control center provided by means of a doorbell.  One ring meant to start peddling.  Another ring meant to stop.  Another ring after that meant to go back the other way.   Simple, cheap, reliable, effective, and darned clever, but I can imagine the following conversation:

"What did you do in the war, daddy?"

"I was a radar station synchro selsen, son."
