I have but one tube tester but I can vouch for it as being able to test a
wide range of tubes. It's the Hickok 752A. It uses the standard Hickok
emission test system but has other features such as good support of VR tube,
nuvistors, a sensitive metered leakage test and a single button swap of dual
triode section for making quick comparisons. It is also easy to figure out
how to test tubes that have no tube chart data because the tube elements are
clearly represented by unique switches. This is handy for the old tubes
where chart data is sometimes missing but the full range of sockets are
there. All you have to do is figure out the settings. I don't know what
752's go for these days.
