They actually used them afterward as well, John. Hudson bombers, IIRC.
I researched this back in the 90s while studying the RBK varaints and
provided the info to Bill Howard, now SK. Might've posted some of it
to Dennis Starks old list. But I remember that the S-27, like the HRO,
became very desirable to the Brits and people returning there were
encouraged to scoop up any available sets on this side of the pond. I
also remember reading something about embassy or others of an official
capacity shopping the radio stores in search of S-27s.
Sorry I can't give more specifics, but it's been nearly a decade and a half.
