Ignorance, perhaps, and a bidding war between just two people.  A 
seller's dream!  These knobs from the postwar ARC receivers pop up from 
time to time - handy for a receiver that you have no spline drive for, 
but collectible only by those who cherish the gray wrinkle civilian and 
military sets.  I've forgotten which particular set it was made 
for...ARN-30 or ARC Type 15, perhaps.  Someone on this list will take 
the time to look it up in the manuals.  They usually go for less than 
$20.  More responsible seller always label it as an "ARC-5 *type* knob"  
They were never used on the ARC-5 sets...look at the date code of Jan 1967.
