Robert,
Both versions have only positions 1 and 6 connected.(I did not open
them, just ohmed them out). The two solid body ones I have on the
aluminum finished FT-227-A rack with BC-454 and BC-455 and the black
disk ones are on the black wrinkle MT-63/ARC-5 rack with R-26 and
R-27.All four receivers have local controls but I'm not sure if they
are all politically correct for their series unless I get the tools
out! They do look pretty good though. All work fine except no BFO on the
BC-454.Have not had the time to get into it but suspect the usual
suspects.
Happy New Year to you and yours!
 Jay

My guess would be that the PL-192 with the phenolic disk was made from
the -A
suffix plug shell while they were making tooling to make the closed
back
blanking plug. The GF/RU has several different blanking plugs. And
most if not
all) are stamped on the rear (not the side) with a four-digit A.R.C.
number. A
few are stamped with the 2- or 3-digit number of the plug they
substitute for.

I have over the years seen receiver racks with a short jumper between
two pins
in one or more of the 8-pin chassis plugs. I can't recall which pins
or which
plug. The jumpers were made from two hollow rivets set into
 two ring
lugs with
a short piece of solid wire connecting the lugs. Grease was squirted
into the
plug and one of the black plastic caps covered it.

Jay, do your two plugs have one jumper or two?
