That's true.  But you can't blame military radio collectors for not trying to 
preserve all that remain any more than you can blame military vehicle 
collectors for not trying to preserve every remaining CJ-2A, CJ-3B or CJ-5 just 
because they share history and parts with the MB, M38 and M38A1.  The fact is that 
the Type 12 was primarily a civilian set that happened to be used in a few 
military light aircraft.  I have a bunch of the receivers and some other 
components.  But most I've had for decades.  The main reason they are still in Storage 
is that once in a great while someone will want one.  And it would not help 
my roughly $800/month storage bill any to get rid of them.  So they continue to 
slumber peacefully on the shelves.  And probably will until I'm dead and 
gone.
