FYI,
You can get ceramic beads from:

I the ones that they refer to as "Single Hole Fish Spine (FS)" are the
proper type. They are relatively cheap and come in packages of 500 and
1000. It takes more than you might think so work out what you need before
ordering.
Note that the original WW-II type are:
0.306 Diameter
0.322 Long
0.130 Hole Diameter
One end is convex and the other is concave.
This does not exactly match the current sizes so pick what you think best.

We bought them for the radio installation for the CAF R-4D. Unfortunately,
we chose a size that was slightly too small and doesn't look quite right to
the trained eye (Heh, Heh) but the public has never complained.
