Try a nickel plated thumb tack.Break out the pin and drill the 
whole.YMMV.

Maybe you could find a source for small disks (like your washers, but 
without the hole) and drill your own hole to fit the wire.

I have a couple of original bead assemblies. The ends have a "washer" 
soldered on them 
 
to hold the beads, but it's like a small "fender" washer; about 1/4 
inch or 
3/8ths with a tiny 
 
hole in the center, just big enough for the wire. Never seen a fender 
washer that small. 
 
I've tried using a regular washer and backfilling with solder, and also 
stacking washers. 
 
The results look like crap. 
 
Anyone have any idea where one would find such a weird animal?
