I ignore the use of the Collins AN/ARC-2 as a command set. If
one considers the AN/ARC-2 to be a command set, then that is the
ultimate MF/HF command set (IMHO).

But since all aircraft radio installations that I've seen or heard
about using the AN/ARC-2 also included the AN/ARC-1 for VHF, or the
AN/ARC-12 or -27 for UHF, then the AN/ARC-2 would be a low powered
liason set, had the USN used such terminology.

The AN/ARC-2 was still flying on USN training aircraft (TS-2A) at
NAS Corpus Christi in 1972.
