I assume the brush holders are bakelite or some form thereof?
I don't remember without digging  one out.
I've freed swollen, stuck bakelite inserts with heat.
I think it dries the moisture out and they shrink,
because the parts fit nicely again once cooled.
Some people say it won't, but I've done it with success many times.
Put the dyno in the oven at about 180-200 degrees for an hour.
No hotter than that.   
Take out (with oven mit, of course) and try the screws again.
