[ARC5] B-24 radio report

Hi Steve,

This is a "negative" progress report. I did listen for you. At my
location I had a high noise level - S-8 on a stingy meter. I *DID*
hear some AM signals on your frequency. Both were down in the noise
and I could not get everything. Neither of the stations I heard was
you. At 10:50 I heard a station calling CQ but could not catch the
entire call. Then at 13:20 I heard another station that I think was
calling you. He was not on very long. At the time I didn't hear you or
anybody else come back to him. I couldn't be sure he was not in
contact with you. Of course, now we know he was not.

I wonder if that guy is on the list and will tell us about a possible
attempt to contact you. I was having almost as much trouble as you
with reception. Earlier the whole band was clear so I thought I had a
chance. If the station(s) on those aircraft will be in use again
during testing or on tours let us know and we will try again. I am
going to see if a shielded loop will help against that noise that is
on sometimes. There are a several small factories within a few miles
of me. And who knows what might be turned on/off at one of the farms
around here?
