[ARC5] History of Ham Mods: Opinions?

Hello All,
I'm new to the group and am currently building up the entire SCR-274N Set up.
before I decided to undertake this task, I got hooked on the set when a good friend of mine
gave me an ARA type CBY-46105 reciever almost 9 years ago. I did not have any connectors or racks
and did not want to solder to the rear power connector.
I did use the miniature banana plugs that were made by Keystone Electronics. and it worked great!
I first used a pencil and paper and rubbed over the outline of the rear connector creating an image of it.
Next, I taped the piece of paper to a 1/4 inch thick piece of lexan and drilled the center of each hole
enough so that the banana plug and sleeve could be press fit in. Wires were soldered to the banana plugs and
inserted into the lexan. At the other end of the wires I used a terminal strip mounted on a board which allowed me to add gain, volume, and
a connection to a LS-454 speaker obtained from Fair Radio. I later added panel meters to monitor Heater and B+
voltages.
Hope this is of interest to some.
