Of course on permission, Ken.
Anything that will help out.

Someone just wrote about this. To give you an idea were I stand
on this, here is my reply:
------------------

I haven't seen (the articles), but I understand
he hacks-up the units.
I do NOT support any such destruction
of irreplaceable historic items, no matter how "minor"
someone thinks, in their singular and isolated opinion,
they are, and no matter how much they childishly whine:
"it's mine I can do what I want BLAA!"

To me, and to most of the mil-radio community,
there is no real difference in destroying one historic relic
and another. For instance- how about stripping everything
out of the nose of your B-17 and putting party chairs and
a wet bar in there? Sure could sell a lot of rides.
Or we could rip out all that useless junk that's in the way
at the U.S.S. Arizona and build a tourist aquarium in the hull.
Such a deal! Think of the increase in traffic.
Disrespectful to the men who died serving at those stations,
but who gives a damn about that anymore, right?
What if I bought the Lee chapel in Virginia, and used his
tomb for a picnic table? Or bought Napoleon's tomb
and turned it into a public toilet?
How about I buy the Sistine Chapel and paint-in Ronald
McDonald, handing God a Big Mac? Or bought the gun that
shot Lincoln, and used it to scratch my butt.
They're mine, so I can do what I want, right?
Doing stupid damage to a B-17 and doing it to a Command Set
are essentially the same immoral act. It's only a matter of scale.

Best for the holidays,
David S.
